Robert Katz and Moctesuma Esparza; and Larry Levinson. Tom Berenger and
Allan Apone are the film's producers. The project began as a collaboration
between Hugh Wilson, who originally scripted the epic; Berenger's production
company, First Corp Endeavors; and Esparza/Katz Productions.
Milius made his directing debut in 1973 with Dillinger.
His subsequent films include Big Wednesday, Conan the Barbarian,
The Wind and the Lion, Red Dawn and Flight of the Intruder. His
writing credits include the Academy Award®-nominated Apocolypse
Now screenplay with Francis Ford Coppola; A Clear and Present
Danger; Jeremiah Johnson; and Farewell to the King.
Berenger's breakthrough performance in Lawrence
Kasdan's The Big Chill led to starring roles in such films as Oliver
Stone's Platoon, Someone to Watch Over Me, Shoot to Kill,
Sliver, At Play in the Fields of the Lord, Major League and
its sequel, Major League II. He played Lieutenant General James Longstreet
in Turner Pictures' Gettysburg.
Levinson produced Dead Man's Walk and Streets
of Laredo. Credits for Esparza and Katz include The Milagro Beanfield
War, The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez, TNT's The Cisco Kid, Avenging
Angels, Gettysburg and the feature Selena. Macdonald's credits
include Sliver, Jade and The Saint.
