The quintessential film cowboy, Sam Elliott made his debut in the 1969 classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Most recently, Elliott received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in the telefilm Buffalo Girls, opposite Anjelica Huston. He also starred in TNT's acclaimed miniseries Gettysburg.

Elliott gained cult status with his performance in the title role of the 1976 film Lifeguard. He has since starred in such features as Mask, with Cher; Fatal Beauty; Prancer; Sibling Rivalry; Roadhouse; and Rush.

For television, Elliott executive-produced and starred in TNT's Conagher, which he co-scripted with his wife, Katherine Ross. The film remains one of the highest-rated originals ever to air on the network. Elliott's other television credits include Murder in Texas, Gone to Texas and The Sam Houston Story. He also starred in The Sacketts, with Tom Selleck; The Yellow Rose, opposite Cybill Shephard; The Shadow Riders; and Joseph Wambaugh's Fugitive Nights.
